It’s always fun to move into a new place and even to buy a new home. One of the most discouraging things that could happen after you move in, is to find out that you have rats. One important point thing to know about rats is that if you see their droppings and you don’t see them, it doesn’t mean that they aren’t there. For every rat that you see, thereare ten more that you don’t. One of the most efficient ways to kill a rat is to call an exterminator. If you don’t want to spend the money for an exterminator, you could set traps or even put down poison.
One of the best ways to get rid of rats is buy deacon. If you have little kids you have to be really careful with deacon. Deacon tastes like candy so if they find it and eat, they could really sick or even die. You want to make sure you put it in places where your kids won’t ever go. Under the stove, is a good place for deacon or under the cabinets in the back. Deacon works great because rats will eat it and go off and die. Many times you won’t even see them again.
If you don’t want to use decon because you have kids, you could set traps. Setting mouse traps can be tricky so you want to be careful. Most people think of cheese as a food that will attract rats but peanut butter is a great thing to put on rat traps. It is strong smelling and rats love it. If you have kids you might want to show them what happens if they put their fingers into a rat trap. Once they see it snap down on a stick, they won’t want to go near it again.
Having rats in not only gross but also they can carry disease. If you are serious and you want to call an exterminator you can but you could save a lot of money by doing it yourself. If you have a house cat that is a hunter, you may be able to eliminate any rats without the use of poison, traps or an exterminator. If you do have to use traps or poison, it’s important to know how they work and that they can be harmful to children. Getting rid of rats is easy if you know what to do.
